***The Legend***
In times of old it was believed that the forests were filled with spirits both good and bad. Hunters and travellers would “knock on wood” to awaken the Tree Spirits in hopes they would protect them during their journeys.
A great gift for a nature, insect, or bee lover. Some say it’s too cool to light, but I'll leave that up to you!
Handmade in Deutschland.
***Wax Facts***
Made with 100% beeswax, which many benefits include:
*naturally purifies the air by releasing negative ions
*light emitted from these candles is much stronger/brighter than any other candle
*no toxicity: since these are natural, they don't produce toxic byproducts or heavy soot when burned
*burn stronger and brighter due to higher melting point
*hypoallergenic: allergy friendly since these are unscented as I leave them to their natural scent
*Beeswax production has a 0 carbon footprint All of our wax is sourced from local bee keepers in the Rhineland Pfalz region of Germany.
*Cool Fact #1* One bee has to consume around 6-8 pounds of honey to produce 1 pound of wax.
*Cool Fact #2* 1227 the Synod of Trier decreed that the worship of trees spirits forbidden.(We live really close to Trier)
* The color of the beeswax will vary from a bright yellow to a deep butterscotch. Beeswax is a natural product and there will be slight fluctuation in the beeswax's color and scent.
*Natural Beeswax can possibly "bloom" if this happens to your candle you can leave it or lightly rub with a lent free cloth. The bloom is a natural process and is common with beeswax. It will appear as a light white dusting. I hair dryer also works to remove the effect.
***Burn Tips***
*Always make sure to burn on a *level* heat resistant/drip approved surface.
*Never burn your candle in the breeze of a fan or a draft - it will blow all the flame's heat to one side of the candle and cause an uneven burn and possibly a wax spill.
*It's best to keep your wick trimmed to 1/4 inch. Wicks can get crusty and gunked up with cooked honey and carbon. Trimming the wick will help keep a bright and beautiful burn. Also, a longer wick = a bigger flame. The bigger your flame, the quicker it sucks up your wax pool. Trim that wick for a longer burn.
*Beeswax candle wicks are designed to curl over when they're getting too long. This is a perfect sign that it's time to trim the wick (just below the bend where the wick is still straight). Also, if your short wick is leaning to one side, you can easily poke at it with the tip of your scissors to straighten it out and get a more symmetrical wax pool.
